In addition to pass-through support, the update also includes improved upscaling for 1080p content. This feature should help to improve the picture quality of older shows and movies when viewed on a 4K TV.
The update is rolling out now to Fire TV Cube devices. To install the update, go to Settings > System > Updates > Check for Updates.
